A small change from a similar script I have to support packages like gcc-multilib (because if you just check for gcc, pacman -Q will not find anything).
Support for packages that provide others.

Is there a reason for the nested if?, or were you just intending to modify the original args?

Not really, I just find it easier to read and debug (what I m saying is that I like nested ifs)

I'm not sure I like this. The whole idea behind arch-ppa(I thought, anyway) was to prevent --noconfirm cases, forcing the user to use pacman instead of a wrapper. I just don't want this to turn into another yaourt, cower, pacaur, etc.

Ah, I thought this was a function for installing built packages from AUR. My mistake!
