SpecForge is a desktop app designed to make coding with intelligent agents more predictable. It helps you control how software behaves by using clear rules and structures. You don’t need to write code yourself. Instead, SpecForge guides agents to follow exact instructions. This lowers mistakes and speeds up tasks.
The app works well with many modern tools like PostgreSQL databases and React interfaces. It uses a reliable system to check commands and data, making sure everything fits together smoothly.
Before you download, make sure your computer meets these basic needs:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or newer
- Processor: At least 1.5 GHz, dual-core
- Memory (RAM): Minimum 4 GB
- Disk Space: At least 500 MB free
- Internet: Needed for initial download and updates
- Additional Software: None needed to run SpecForge, but installing PostgreSQL helps if you want to use data features
Click on the big green button above or go here to download SpecForge. This link takes you to the main page for the software.
On the GitHub page, look for the "Releases" section on the right or near the middle of the screen. Select the latest release version.
Inside that release, look for a file ending with .exe. This is the Windows installer.
Click on the .exe file to download it. Your browser will ask where to save it. Choose a folder you can easily access, like "Downloads".
After download completes, open the file by double-clicking it.
- A setup window will appear.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
- You can accept default options unless you want to install to a specific folder.
- Click “Install” when ready.
When installation finishes, click “Finish” in the setup window.
You should now find SpecForge in your Start menu or as a shortcut on your desktop.
Open the app to begin using it.
Once you open SpecForge, you will see a clean, simple interface.
- Agent Rules Setup: Write plain instructions for your coding agent.
- Project Templates: Start projects using pre-made blueprints.
- Validation Tools: Check your instructions before running them.
- Database Connection: Link to PostgreSQL for saving and loading data.
- Status Monitor: See what your agents are doing in real time.
The app guides you step-by-step as you add and edit your instructions. It uses color-coded warnings to show if something might not work as expected.
- Create a New Project: Click “New Project” and enter a name.
- Set Up Rules: Use the easy editor to write your agent commands. Use plain sentences.
- Check Your Work: Click "Validate" to make sure everything is correct.
- Run the Agent: Start the agent to perform tasks based on your rules.
- View Results: Track output in the “Results” panel.
- Save and Export: Save your project or export configurations for use elsewhere.
You do not need to program. The app takes your clear instructions and ensures agents follow them exactly.
SpecForge lets you keep everything organized:
- Store projects locally on your PC.
- Connect to PostgreSQL to store and manage your project data.
- Export project details as JSON or CSV files.
- Import existing projects created by others.
- Back up projects to cloud storage if you prefer.
If you have issues, here are simple steps to try:
