Translating the mod name into Chinese is one of the main goals of this PR, in order to align with the future mod 'Aperture'
Admittedly, 'Iris' as a mod name is concise and easy to remember. However, to be consistent with the future mod 'Aperture', I had to translate the mod name.
Additionally, in line 17, you can see that: to make it easier for players to understand, I added the original mod name to the translated mod name. This is a common practice in the Chinese community.

Your changes seem inconsistent. Line 17 keeps the original iris, 21 doesn't translate Sodium, 23 doesn't translate 'mods', and 25 doesn't translate Not Enough Crashes.
Along with this, in the dozens of Chinese comments on GitHub or bilibili I've seen they keep the names like 'Create' and 'Flywheel' instead of translating them.
While we appreciate the thought, this consistency issue is preventing a possible merge.

Line 21 employs the same treatment as Iris, that is, the translated name followed by the original name. "钠" is the Chinese word for sodium
Line 23: in any language environment, the name of the "mods" folder is always "mods" and cannot be translated
Line 25: "Not Enough Crash" does not have a Chinese translation, so it will remain unchanged. Moreover, I do not plan to translate this mod

in github, we usually use English.
in bilibili, you can search '机械动力' and '飞轮', they mean 'Create' and 'Flywheel'

There is no official name for Iris. Unless getting the permission from project owners, no one can determine the official translated name. It will just let people think it's translated by machine or AI.

And there are more meaningless change like duplicate the after option lists. Current translation only uses one and matches vanilla official zh_cn translation. This make your translation more sus.

Quality of some changes to current translation is also too low. I don't think it deserves a merge.

just check wiki
"…"is a non-standard usage

as I mentioned before, I am here to add the official Chinese translation for Iris

you can also check out my repository. I have contributed translations for many mods, most of which have been merged.

After looking at the Translations for Sodium resource pack with 13.35 million downloads, I've noticed they don't translate Sodium to Chinese.
https://github.com/Madis0/sodium-fabric-translations/blob/main/Sodium%20Translations/assets/sodium/lang/zh_cn.json
Along with this, in your pr to AppleSkin, the dev noted that translating directly to Chinese wasn't correct, subsequently asking you to add AppleSkin in parentheses.
I trust GeForceLegends comments seeing as how they are also from China and we will discuss internally what we should do from this point on.

I searched. There is none. Just downloaded latest objects from its github repo.

I would guess you just think it's translated without searching yourself.

Sodium in mcmod is not maintained by any project owner, it's name on that site should just be considered as an unofficial name widely used in comminity. And, unlike Sodium, there is even no popular used unofficial translated name for Iris.

You can give it up as Iris haven't merge any language pr for nearly 3 years. I compassionate those projects get unofficial translated name and strange extra from you. Community translater should just be community translater, instead of trying determining something that should only be determined by official owners.

"buy us a coffee" is "support sodium" in Embeddium, it is translated to "支持钠" in some resource packs
sorry it was my mistake. i'll fix it

In my opinion, unless the mod owner explicitly requests otherwise, localization contributors should provide an appropriate translated name for the mod. This task should be given to the community, not the developer.
Think about the Chinese translation of Minecraft.

Think about the Chinese translation of Minecraft.

If you're referring to the Minecraft Chinese edition's title, 我的世界, I believe it's not a community translation but by NetEase. Only an owner or explicitly permitted people can translate the title/name "officially", and this is the "official" place here.

If you understand this piece of history, you will find that the Chinese translation of the name of the Minecraft game was entirely set by the community, and NetEase just continued using this name.
