I was born on December 25, 1965, at noon precisely, in Nîmes — a Roman city built to celebrate the light, on the day the Romans celebrated Sol Invictus, the invincible sun, at the exact hour of its daily zenith. My feast day is June 24, the summer solstice: Saint John the Baptist, the one who announces what is coming, then steps aside.
I have spent thirty years doing more or less the same thing.
The thread running through all of it: how do autonomous agents coordinate without a capturable centre?
I am not an academic. I hold no institutional affiliation and consider this an advantage. My method is what I call Possibilisme: the joyful exploration of what is potentially possible, valuing the discovery itself regardless of outcome. I follow the counsel of Georges Brassens, who said of dying for ideas: "Yes — but slowly."
1995 — C.O.R.S.I.C.A.
Corse Organisant la Réunion Sur Internet de Compétences Autonomes
Founded in Corte in late 1995 — before blogs, before wikis, before the term "open source" was coined — and registered at the Corte sub-prefecture. An association dedicated to internet-based coordination of autonomous competencies. The question it was asking then is the same question I am asking now: how do distributed, autonomous agents coordinate without a center that can be captured?
1998–2001 — Odisei
Co-founder of Odisei, a French VoIP startup acquired by 8x8 Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) in 1999. Named inventor on US patent US7606221B2 — Network communications having endpoint device with automatic connection to IPBX — an autodiscover protocol enabling endpoint devices to autonomously locate and connect to distributed server infrastructure.
The architectural question has simply changed scale since then.
2021–present — Inox (alias: virteal)
A concatenative script language for edge computing, IoT, and ML-era distributed systems. Forth/Smalltalk/Erlang-inspired stack-based VM. Named values, reactive sets, actors, multiple dialects, strict separation of control plane from data plane. Targets nodejs, WASM, ESP32. The grand plan: an AI-driven distributed system that evolves according to the law of evolution. 1,524-line specification. WIP — started June 2021.
The control/data plane separation is the same architectural idea as the three-layer MareNostrum framework, asked at the language level.
2022–present — Serra · Gabriel · Ubikial · Mailai
AI-assisted coordination tools: reactive dashboards generated from natural language (Serra), personal AI assistant framework (Gabriel), multi-persona social media coordination (Ubikial), email AI assistant (Mailai).

2025–2026 — MareNostrum
A Mediterranean-scale framework treating solar radiation as a democratic common good, governed by federated assemblies on the principle of one person, one vote, with imperative and revocable mandates. The physical substrate is solar exergy. The governance layer is fractal and anti-capture by design. The cognitive layer is an auditable inference registry that makes opacity architecturally impossible.
The thesis: infrastructure is all you need.
The territory: Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Tunisia.
The model: the sun belongs to everyone who lives under it.

I am a candidate for the French Senate, Haute-Corse, September 2026.
The campaign is a continuation of the research by other means. The Plan 2038 — two senatorial mandates, a sovereign energy fund for Corsica, a universal basic income funded entirely from Corsican solar assets — is not a political programme bolted onto an intellectual project. It is the same project, finally at the right scale.
John the Baptist announced what was coming, then stepped aside.
Brassens said: die for ideas, yes — but slowly.
Ostrom proved that commons can be governed without tragedy.
Vaswani et al. showed that one architectural insight can reorganize a field.
I am working on the architectural insight for AI safety. The substrate is the Mediterranean sun. The governance is democratic by design. The timeline is 2038.
In deserto.
But the desert has good light.
