This PR backports #580 (@KristofferC), which provided the fix for these JuliaLang/julia issues (1, 2, 3).
#580 caused a regression in anonymous function parsing (JuliaLang/julia#60202) and so I also backported the fix for it, JuliaLang/julia#60221 (@IanButterworth).
Since previous fixes have been backported to 1.12 I was hoping that there was some chance we could get this in? (cc @c42f, @mlechu)
