Are you able to make a save state by using the Menu + R2 hotkey? For me, this version of drastic segfaults when I attempt to do so (this is on a Brick).

It also segfaults when I use the "About" menu.

That has (on my Brick) fixed the two segfaults I mentioned. The main thing I have noticed so far in my very limited testing (using 'Pokémon HeartGold'), is that Screens configuration ➤ Threaded 3D seems to cause the game display to freeze.

I think that setting had been working before, with: https://github.com/trngaje/advanced_drastic/releases/download/libadvdrastic/libadvdrastic_251109.tar.gz

Edit: I just ran into something else. I opened the menu and clicked Exit DraStic, and drastic froze without actually closing. I can see that it is actually still running:

Does that log show that the drastic setting "Screens configuration ➤ Threaded 3D" is working? Perhaps it does, and I just don't know what I'm looking at. I was not reporting that the game doesn't work, only that this particular setting doesn't work.

I also guess (based on GFX_Init:720x480 and GL Version: OpenGL ES 3.2 v1.r20p0-01rel0.8ec337de4ddab3365a32cff58063a9da) that this log is not from a Brick. My Brick shows GFX_Init:1024x768 and GL Version: OpenGL ES 3.2 build 1.19@6345021. In case my Brick was the problem, I tried it on my RG-35XX H (which does have GL Version: OpenGL ES 3.2 v1.r20p0-01rel0.8ec337de4ddab3365a32cff58063a9da), and the setting "Screens configuration ➤ Threaded 3D" still does cause the game display to freeze. The emulator isn't actually frozen: you can hear the game running, and you can just turn the setting back off again and it will start working again.

Clarifications:

  • It seems like "Screens configuration ➤ Threaded 3D" may only fail when "Screens configuration ➤ High-resolution 3D" is also enabled at the same time. I think the problem only occurs if I load into the game with both of those settings enabled.
  • You must actually go into the game (i.e. not just the title/loading screen) to see the issue—at least, for the game in question. The way this issue appears is that I load into my save file, and then the display of my player character standing in the starting town is frozen, but—if I walk to the right—I can hear myself hitting the water at the edge of the town. When I turn off "Screens configuration ➤ Threaded 3D", the display of the game begins working again.
