Added notebook: annual maximum JJA heat index at Boulder and Chicago
Compute annual maximum JJA heat index at Boulder, CO and Chicago, IL
using ERA5 (GDEX d633000, native Zarr) and JRA-3Q (GDEX d640000,
kerchunk) reanalyses over 1990-2025. Heat index calculated using the
Lu and Romps (2022) Python implementation following Romps (2024).
ERA5 hourly data randomly subsampled to 6-hourly prior to computing
the annual maximum to match the JRA-3Q temporal cadence. Results
written to Zarr on GLADE scratch.
