💡 Vulnerability: Use of legacy onclick property assignment and missing explicit type on a dynamically created button.

🎯 Impact: The onclick property can be easily overwritten by other scripts, and missing type="button" can lead to unintended form submissions if the button is ever placed inside a form element.

🔧 Fix:

  1. Replaced closeBtn.onclick = ... with closeBtn.addEventListener('click', ...) for more robust event handling.
  2. Explicitly set closeBtn.type = 'button' to ensure consistent behavior.
  3. Updated the SHA-256 hash in the Content-Security-Policy meta tag to match the modified inline script, ensuring the security baseline remains intact.

Verification:

  • Executed a Playwright verification script that simulated the user journey (clicking the action button, seeing the notification, and closing it).
  • Monitored the browser console during verification to ensure NO Content Security Policy (CSP) violations were triggered by the change.
  • Verified that functionality remains identical while following security best practices.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 5327549250561556609 started by @Shin5hi
