Tom4U/README.md

Tom Ohms

Taking the friction out of tech. That's been my work for over thirty years.

It started in 1993 with a C64 and Basic, and I've worked through many technology generations since.

Today I work as a developer, consultant, and trainer. I build software that users understand from the first click and teach the skills behind it.

My benchmark for good software is simple: users open it and start. No manual, no questions.

The same standard drives my trainings. I adapt to each person and keep explaining until it clicks.

The technologies shown here reflect what lives in repositories owned by me - not the full picture of languages and frameworks I work with professionally.

Current Focus

  • Cloud architectures with Microsoft Azure
  • DevOps using GitHub and Azure DevOps
  • Designing realistic training projects
  • Integrating AI-assisted development into training scenarios

Trainings & Teaching Approach

I offer professional trainings across a wide range of topics, including:

  • Modern Web Development - Angular, React, Vue.js, Svelte, TypeScript, Node.js
  • .NET & C# - C#, ASP.NET Core, WPF
  • Cloud & Azure - Azure services, Bicep / IaC, certification paths
  • DevOps & Tooling - GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, PowerShell
  • Software Craftsmanship - Clean Code, SOLID, Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Security - Web application security, OWASP, ethical hacking
  • Power Platform - Power Apps, Power Automate, certification paths
  • AI-native Development - AI-assisted workflows, LLMs, RAG, agent systems, prompt engineering, AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini)

Each training includes structured theoretical introduction, live coding sessions, hands-on exercises, and complete working solutions.

My goal is long-term understanding - not just short-term results:

  • Clear separation between theory and practice
  • Real-world example projects throughout
  • Fully reproducible environments
  • Strong focus on practical application
