Hi! I don't know why this was never reviewed. I didn't drive this forward I think because I wasn't relying on this repo anymore for some reason. But I am happy to fix the merge issues sometime next week when I'm back from vacation. |

This function was common and useful enough that I think it warrants it being in this project.
