I'm Xingyu Chen (陈星宇), a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Statistics at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU, 上海交通大学). I’m fortunate to be advised by Professor Lin Liu (刘林).
My research interests focus on causal inference and mathematical statistics, including high-dimensional statistics, higher-order U-statistics, statistical computing, semiparametric and nonparametric theory, inverse problems, and efficiency theory.
Before joining SJTU, I received my B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in 2023 from the School of Mathematical and Statistics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST, 华中科技大学).
⚡ Fun fact: “0714” in my ID “cxy0714” is the official subject code for Statistics in the Chinese Ministry of Education’s classification system—where “07” denotes Science and “0701” denotes Mathematics. (source)
In February 2011, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council approved a reform that elevated Statistics from a sub-discipline jointly under Mathematics and Economics to an independent 一级学科 (first-level discipline), on par with its former parents. (source)
