Pochampally Loomhouse — Local Business Website & Live Pitch Project

Future Interns — Full Stack Web Development | Task 3 (FUTURE_FS_03) CIN ID: FIT/JUN26/FS18741

About the project

A professional business website built for Pochampally Loomhouse, a fictional weaver-run handloom collective based in Bhoodan Pochampally, Telangana — home of the GI-tagged Pochampally Ikat weaving tradition.

The site tells the studio's craft story, walks visitors through the actual 4-stage weaving process, showcases their product collections, and lets visitors send an enquiry to book a studio visit or place a custom order.

Live Demo: https://pochampally-loomhouse.netlify.app

Tech stack

  • HTML5, CSS3, vanilla JavaScript — no framework, single self-contained file
  • Custom SVG filter system (feTurbulence + feDisplacementMap) to generate an "ikat blur" pattern used throughout the site as a signature visual motif, echoing the real resist-dye technique
  • Fully responsive (mobile, tablet, desktop), keyboard-accessible focus states, respects prefers-reduced-motion

Features

  • Hero section with generative ikat-pattern visual
  • Craft story section
  • 4-step weaving process timeline (design → tie-dye → weave → finish)
  • Product collections grid (sarees, dupattas, stoles, home linen)
  • Testimonial / press mentions section
  • Enquiry form with client-side validation and success state
  • Footer with studio contact details

Why this business

Traditional handloom clusters like Pochampally rarely have any online presence — buyers only find them through word of mouth or in-person village visits, limiting them to local, repeat customers. A simple, credible website lets them reach buyers anywhere and convert online interest into studio visits or custom orders, without changing how the weaving or selling actually happens.

Pitch

Pochampally Loomhouse is a weaver-run handloom collective in Bhoodan Pochampally, Telangana, producing GI-tagged ikat sarees, dupattas, stoles, and home textiles. Like most traditional handloom clusters, the studio has no online presence — buyers only find them through word of mouth or in-person visits to the village, which limits them to local and repeat customers.

This website gives the studio a professional digital storefront: it tells their craft story, walks visitors through the actual weaving process (which justifies their pricing against machine-made "ikat print" competitors), showcases their product range, and — most importantly — lets people enquire about studio visits or custom orders from anywhere, without needing to travel to Nalgonda district first.

Result: the studio can now reach buyers across India (or abroad) who care about authentic handloom textiles, convert online interest into studio visits or custom orders, and present themselves with the same credibility as any established textile brand — while keeping the actual weaving and sales process unchanged.
