The Chinese American Biopharmaceutical Society (CABS) is the largest Chinese biopharmaceutical professional organization in North America, connecting over 3,500 scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CABS fosters innovation through scientific conferences, career development, international collaboration, and AI-driven initiatives in biotechnology and healthcare. This GitHub organization serves as the home for our open-source projects, educational resources, bioinformatics tools, AI applications, and Summer Internship Program, providing a collaborative platform for students, researchers, and professionals to learn, build, and contribute to advancing life sciences.
The IT & Data Science (ITDS) Committee drives CABS's digital transformation by promoting artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, data science, software development, and computational biology across the life sciences community. Through open-source projects, technical workshops, hackathons, and collaborative initiatives, the committee empowers members to develop practical skills and build innovative solutions that accelerate biomedical research and drug discovery. A flagship initiative is the CABS Data Science Summer Internship Program, which provides students with hands-on, mentor-guided experience in AI, machine learning, bioinformatics, software engineering, and data analytics through real-world projects sponsored by industry and academic leaders. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of computational scientists while fostering a collaborative open-source ecosystem for innovation in biopharma.
