Passion Command
Gamble coins to spark (or boost) passion in your pawn's skills — giving faster learning and happy mood boosts! Viewers love risking coins for big skill upgrades. 🎲💥
TL;DR: !passion lets viewers bet coins for a chance to add minor passion (🔥) or upgrade to burning passion (🔥🔥) in a skill. Higher bets = better odds, but crit fails can remove passions! Very powerful for colony strength.
Basic (random skill): !passion
Targeted skill: !passion
List your current passions: !passion list
Examples:
-
!passion 200→ Bet 200 coins for a random skill to gain/upgrade passion -
!passion shooting 500→ Bet 500 on shooting skill specifically -
!passion list→ Shows your pawn's current 🔥 passions (e.g. Shooting 🔥🔥, Plants 🔥) -
!passion medicine 50→ Small bet on medicine to try for minor passion
Note: Skill names work partial/case-insensitive (e.g. shoot, SHOOTING, med).
In RimWorld, passion is one of the biggest hidden powers for your pawns:
- No passion → Learns skills at only ~33% speed 😴
- Minor passion (🔥) → Normal 100% learning speed + +8 mood when doing that work 😊
- Burning passion (🔥🔥) → 150% learning speed + even bigger mood boost! 🚀
Passionate pawns level skills way faster, become experts quicker, and stay happier doing their jobs. Many players overlook passions early-game, but they make or break late-game colonies (especially for doctors, shooters, builders, growers).
Streamer tip: Passions are perfect for "power-up" moments — viewers feel like they're directly making your colony stronger (or risk breaking it on bad rolls). Balance settings carefully so it's exciting but not game-ruining.
You bet coins → RNG roll decides outcome:
- Success ✅ → Gain minor passion or upgrade minor → burning in the skill
- Critical Success 🎉 → Guaranteed upgrade (or new passion) — big win!
- Failure 💔 → Nothing happens, coins lost
- Critical Failure 💥 → Lose an existing passion (or gain a useless one like Artistic) — ouch!
Odds improve with bigger bets (up to your max settings), but crit fails get less punishing on high wagers.
Your pawn must be alive and assigned — use !join / !mypawn first.
Go to RICS tab at bottom → Command Editor → Search for Passion.
Easier to get passions (viewer-friendly, more wins):
- Raise BasePassionSuccessChance (default 15% → try 25-35%)
- Raise MaxPassionSuccessChance (default 60% → up to 80-90%)
- Increase PassionWagerBonusPer100 (default 1.0 → 2.0 or more for big-bet rewards)
- Lower crit fail chances (CriticalFailBaseChance down, MinCriticalFailChance to 1%)
- Raise CritSuccessUpgradeVsNewChance (more upgrades on crits)
Harder / more risk (high-stakes drama):
- Lower base/max success chances (10-40%)
- Reduce wager bonuses
- Increase crit fail base chance (15-20%)
- Lower CritFailLoseVsWrongChance (more "gain useless passion" troll moments 😂)
- Raise TargetedCritFailAffectTargetChance (targeted bets more likely to backfire on the chosen skill)
Pro streamer advice:
- Start with defaults → watch chat reactions
- Make it easier during slow streams to encourage bets
- Make it riskier during hype moments for epic fails/wins
- Set MinPassionWager low (10-50) so everyone can play
- Cap MaxPassionWager (500-2000) to prevent one viewer breaking economy
All these are adjustable in the Command Manager window!
- Use
!passion listoften — show chat what passions your pawn already has - Target key survival skills: Shooting, Medicine, Plants, Construction — huge colony impact
- Small bets = safer fun; big bets = stream highlights (wins or hilarious fails)
- Combine with !mypawn to show passion changes live
- Warn chat: "Crit fails can remove passions — bet wisely!" 😅
- Great during recruitment or after pawn deaths — helps new pawns catch up fast
No pawn? → "❌ Need an assigned pawn! Use !join"
