Translate into Japanese#51
Translate into Japanese#51rbstrachan wants to merge 1 commit intohatnote:masterfrom rbstrachan:patch-1
Conversation
These proposed changes are a translation from English into Japanese and specifically resolve #28. I have done my best to translate the text as faithfully as possible while still making it "Japanese" enough to not sound foreign. It is difficult to translate some informal sentences, such as "a few numbers[...]", etc but I have done my best to convey the general tone. At the bottom, there is a field labelled, "sent_to". I'm not sure where the persons email would normally go but I have pointed out that in Japanese, their name or email must go in the middle of the sentence. See [INSERT NAME HERE] on line 109. **Please do not merge without first fixing this.** Also, I am not aware of a good way to translate "unsubscribe". My Japanese dictionary was not very useful in this case and Google Translate gave me a very weird suggestion. I tried googling some Japanese newsletters but it seems they tend not to include unsubscribe links so I have done my best "good-faith" translation. Perhaps another Japanese speaker could have a look and give a second opinion? Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to add, change or remove. :)

Thank you! Really appreciate your help. You're welcome to take some translator's license with the tone of the email. As long as it conveys the general info about Wikipedia updates, it's good from my perspective. I don't speak any Japanese myself, so I think we'll need to rely on your work and others from Japanese Wikipedia. For reference, the email will be formatted something like this. This is how the We can build the templates and see if they make sense. |
In that case my translation won't work here as the email needs to go in the middle. I'm a bit busy this week but I'll fiddle around with it when I have some spare time, maybe next Monday or so. I think your suggestion to build the templates and see what breaks is the best way to go forward. Thanks, |

With regards to the I'm not sure what the best course of action here is, but if you want to go ahead with that, you should use this sentence, or an equivalent one, instead;
Also, I'm not sure how to change my pull request so I would be very grateful if you could change the sentence for me :) Thanks, |

Notes
I translated this file section by section without having an idea of what the actual newsletter will look like. If my edits break anything, please let me know and I'll fix it.
