I study nucleotide-driven molecular machines using NMR spectroscopy, combining experimental structural biology with computational tool development. My research focuses on Hsp70 chaperones, which maintain cellular proteostasis. I pioneered in-cyclo NMR, a methodology that simultaneously captures enzymatic kinetics and structural transitions throughout functional cycles.
- RAS GTPases — Systematic kinetic-structural characterisation of oncogenic variants
- Molecular chaperones — Eukaryotic Hsp70 functional cycles and co-chaperone regulation
- Chaperone condensates — Liquid-liquid phase separation in stress responses
- Binder design — Computational design and experimental validation of protein binders
My future programme will combine high-throughput NMR, cryo-EM and cell-based assays to systematically characterise molecular machines and their roles in disease.
