A conversational AI agent conducts patient intake, auto-fills standardized clinical forms, and routes low-confidence entries to a clinician for validation. Every validated record is anonymized immediately — PII is stripped before storage — and passes through a three-layer compliance gate (regex rules, supervised classifier, and LLM fallback) before entering the research database. Every decision is logged to an immutable audit trail.

The EHDS (Regulation (EU) 2025/327) entered into force in March 2025, with key implementing acts due by March 2027. Hospitals face a legal obligation to enable compliant secondary data use — without the infrastructure to do it. The compliance gap is open now.
