The README caution block said stable v2 was targeted for 2026-07-27, but the sentence also says it ships "alongside the spec release" — and the spec release is 2026-07-28, as stated earlier in the same paragraph. Off by one day.

Prose only; no code snippets touched.

AI Disclaimer

The README said stable v2 was targeted for 2026-07-27, one day before the
spec release it ships alongside. Both are 2026-07-28.

No-Verification-Needed: docs-only, single date correction

LGTM — trivial one-line prose fix aligning the stable v2 target date with the spec release date.

What was reviewed: the single changed line in the README caution block. Confirmed 2026-07-28 is internally consistent — the same paragraph's spec-release link (2026-07-28-release-candidate blog post) and the "alongside the spec release" phrasing both point to that date. No code, snippets, or links were touched.

Extended reasoning...

Overview

This PR changes a single date in README.md prose: the stable v2 target date from 2026-07-27 to 2026-07-28. No code, configuration, or documentation snippets are affected — it is a one-word edit inside the caution block at the top of the README.

Security risks

None. The change is documentation prose only; no code paths, dependencies, links, or executable snippets are modified.

Level of scrutiny

Minimal scrutiny is appropriate. The correct value is verifiable from the surrounding context: the same paragraph links to the 2026-07-28 MCP specification release blog post and states v2 ships "alongside the spec release", so 2026-07-27 was an off-by-one inconsistency. The new date makes the paragraph internally consistent.

Other factors

The bug hunting system found no issues, and there are no prior reviewer comments on the PR. This is exactly the category of simple, mechanical, self-contained change (typo/date fix) that qualifies for approval without human review.

LGTM — one-character date fix in the README, internally consistent with the rest of the paragraph.

What was reviewed: the single-line change to the v2 caution block in README.md. Confirmed the corrected date (2026-07-28) matches the spec release date stated earlier in the same sentence, and that no code snippets, links, or other prose were touched.

Extended reasoning...

Overview

This PR changes a single character in README.md: the stable v2 target date in the caution block, from 2026-07-27 to 2026-07-28. The same sentence says stable v2 ships "alongside the spec release", and the spec release date — stated earlier in the same paragraph and in its link — is 2026-07-28, so the old date was an off-by-one inconsistency and the new date is the internally consistent one.

Security risks

None. This is prose-only documentation; no code, configuration, links, or executable snippets are modified.

Level of scrutiny

Minimal scrutiny is appropriate. A one-line README date correction is the canonical example of a simple, mechanical, self-contained change. The only thing worth verifying is that the new date is actually correct, which the surrounding paragraph itself establishes (the 2026-07-28 spec release link and the "alongside the spec release" phrasing).

Other factors

The bug hunting system found no issues, and the diff touches nothing else. The PR timeline has no prior reviews or unresolved comments. Per the repo guidelines, README.md documents v2 on main, which is exactly where this change lands. No migration-guide or docs updates are needed for a date fix in prose.
