The controller goroutine spawned in BeforeEach was not waited on during teardown, allowing it to outlive its test and interfere with the next one. This caused two issues: - "already exists" flake: a lingering goroutine could recreate the ClusterOperator after the next test's BeforeEach deleted it, causing a 409 conflict when the test body tried to create its own. - Data race: reassigning the sync.WaitGroup in BeforeEach raced with Wait() still executing in the previous test's goroutine. Replaced the sync.WaitGroup with a startController channel (to sequence CO creation before the controller starts) and a done channel (to block AfterEach until the goroutine has fully exited).
