I did some local tests and this works as intended.
Now, when my project executes the
pytest_configurehook, the--envfilespecified in cmdline options is already loaded and properly overrode the overlapping env variables.Also took the liberty to add some minor quality-of-life improvements to this project:
venv/to gitignore, as this is a commonly used path for virtual-environments.
