Fixes the following situation:
When multisite is enabled using subdomains and I you also want to set up domain mapping according to https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/multisite/domain-mapping/.
You create a second site and then you edit this new site (https://multisite.com/wp/wp-admin/network/site-info.php?id=2) and there you set the URL to https://top-level-domain.com and click save. But after saving is complete it shows only http://top-level-domain.com and also when you switch to the "Options" tab (https://multisite.com/wp/wp-admin/network/site-settings.php?id=2) the "siteurl" is wrong/unchanged.
When you visit the second site it tooks around 60 seconds to load.
