SNMP Monitoring plugin pack written in C for efficiency and scalability
All these plugins work immediatly with the standard SNMP implementations of LINUX and WINDOWS.
This package includes:
**check_snmp_disk** : Monitors disk / ram / virtual memory usage.
**check_snmp_load** : Returns the load in % for Windows or the load averages for Linux.
**check_snmp_process** : Returns the number of process, and the memory space by process. (can also checks multiples process)
Prerequisites:
You must have the snmp development library installed on your system
(on linux debian: aptitude install libsnmp-dev)
To compile:
./configure (--prefix=PATH)
make
if you have set a prefix:
make install and binaries will be in PATH/bin
if you experiment compilation problems, please refer to the INSTALL file
3 binaries are now in ./src or PATH/bin (if you provided a --prefix to configure):
check_snmp_disk
check_snmp_process
check_snmp_load
See help of a given plugin with the option -h or -?
Some examples:
check_snmp_disk :
->To monitor physical memory on the host 10.0.0.1 community public (alert 90%,95%):
check_snmp_disk -H 10.0.0.1 -C public -m r -w 90 -c 95
->To monitor disk space and virtual memory:
check_snmp_disk -H 10.0.0.1 -C public -m dv -w 90 -c 95
->To monitor only the disk C:
check_snmp_disk -H 10.0.0.2 -C public -m d -w 90 -c 95 -f C:
(on some windows system, you may have to filter by putting C:\\ instead of C:)
check_snmp_process :
->To check if apache and mysql is launched, and maximal number of process for WARN = 30 / CRIT = 50
check_snmp_process -H 10.0.0.1 -C public -m apache,mysqld -w 30 -c 50
->To check if explorer.exe is launched and alert if it takes more than 50 Mo of memory
check_snmp_process -H 10.0.0.2 -C public -m explorer.exe -w 2 -c 5 -r 50
check_snmp_load :
->For a WINDOWS machine; to check CPU
check_snmp_load -H 10.0.0.2 -C public -m W -w 90 -c 95
->For a LINUX machine; to check LOAD (with warn and critical limits)
check_snmp_load -H 10.0.0.1 -C public -m L -w 10,08,05 -c 20,15,10
