…D relocation limit The hybrid envelope stores the 2-byte KEM-ciphertext length in the body, outside the AEAD associated data. A tampered length marker handed real ML-KEM a wrong-sized ciphertext, throwing a raw ArgumentException/ CryptographicException out of Decapsulate instead of the library's PostQuantumCryptographicException — an unhandled exception on the query path (Gemini bug #2). Wrap it so decryption fails closed. Also corrects the threat model and README, which implied all tampering is caught: relocating an intact envelope to another row/column under the same key id still decrypts, because the associated data binds version/scheme/ key id but not table/column/row (Gemini bug #1). Records that and the KEM-block AD-binding hardening (Gemini bug #3, low/self-mitigating) as format-version-gated gaps. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
