This PR fixes these issues:
I loaded the project in Xcode 26 and updated it to MacOS 12.4.
I committed incremental changes for each warning encountered, and I made changes for some additional issues:
I'm not an Objective-C developer (I used Opus 4.7 to make changes) so please do examine the changes for sanity.
