TSS Tools Chrome Extension

Description

TSS Tools is a Chrome extension specifically tailored to enhance productivity and efficiency for common tasks. This extension brings a host of tools and functionalities to streamline workflow by making it easier to manage and interact with FreshService tickets, search account information, or search common logs.

Installation

1. Download the Extension:

   • Clone or download the extension repository from GitHub.
   • Note: Since the extension currently lives on a branch not in main, you may want to copy the folder onto your local device to ensure continued access when switching Solutions Site branches!

2. Open Chrome Extensions Page:

   • Navigate to Chrome and open the Extensions page by clicking on the three dots in the top-right corner.
   • Select More tools and then Extensions, or type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar.

3. Enable Developer Mode:

   • On the Extensions page, toggle the Developer mode switch in the top-right corner.

4. Load Unpacked Extension:

   • Click on the Load unpacked button.
   • Navigate to the directory where you saved the downloaded extension files.
   • Select the folder and click Open to install the extension.

5. Verify Installation:

   • The TSS Tools extension should now appear on the Extensions page.
   • Ensure it's enabled, and you should see the TSS Tools icon in your Chrome toolbar.

6. Configure Extension (Optional):

   • To adjust settings, click on the extension icon in the toolbar and select Options.
   • Customize settings as needed and click Save.

Usage

After installation, the TSS Tools extension is ready for use. Note: You must have the Support Site running for access to the pop-up and support site searches. Similarly, be sure you are authenticated in SDM for Kibana/Grafana searches.

• Highlight text then right-click o to access context menus for quick searches and actions.
• Click the extension icon for quick access to the support site.
• Use the "Add Buttons" feature on FreshService ticket pages to add some shortcuts, such as quickly supering into an account based on ID or email.
