This pull request is here to document what changes were in the actual running code on May 30, 2018 that were different from the master branch.
We intend to do a new release from code that was developed by Gareth George and his team (Christian Lloyd, Dana Nguyen and others) during Winter 2018. Before we do, we wanted to make a backup of all the changes that might get clobbered--changes that were hacked into the production running code.
