General remarks before diving in deeper:

• Make sure the code follow our coding style guide (see https://github.com/xdata-skylark/libskylark/blob/development/doc/style.mkd). I noticed some issues with indentation (for example utility/external/replicate_matrix.hpp, utility/io/matrixmarket_io.hpp)
• Fix headers so that the code compiles on all architectures.
