Summary

Adds a changelog entry for the launch of the X Chat API — end-to-end encrypted direct messages on X, along with the Chat XDK.

Changes

  • New Jul 16, 2026 entry in changelog.mdx covering:
    • The Chat API and its E2EE model (client-side encryption and signing; X routes only ciphertext).
    • The Chat XDK across Python, TypeScript, Rust, Go, C#, and Java.
    • Group conversations, encrypted media attachments, and real-time delivery via webhooks or activity stream.
    • OAuth 2.0 user context with dm.read / dm.write scopes.
  • Links to the new /xchat/* docs (introduction, getting started, XDK, groups, media, real-time events, cryptography primer).

Context

This week's merge to main finalized the Chat API doc set (introduction, Chat XDK, groups, media, real-time events, cryptography primer, troubleshooting) and the /x-api/chat/* endpoint reference. No changelog entry existed for this launch — the most recent prior entry was Jun 11, 2026.
