Checked this locally. The current Dependabot-only branch fails because ESLint 10 no longer auto-loads .eslintrc.json:

ESLint couldn't find an eslint.config.(js|mjs|cjs) file.

I opened #19 with the same ESLint 10 bump plus a flat eslint.config.cjs. Local verification on #19:

  • npm test passed
  • JS syntax checks passed
  • ESLint completed with 0 errors and the existing 2 server.js warnings
  • manifest.json check passed
  • release checks passed for version 1.1.0
  • HTML tests passed: 18/18
  • proxy smoke test passed

If #19 looks good, this PR can be closed as superseded.

Closing as superseded by #19.

#18 only bumped ESLint and failed CI because ESLint 10 requires flat config. #19 carried the same ESLint 10 update, added eslint.config.cjs, aligned the Node engine and GitHub Actions runtime, removed the existing lint warnings, and was merged in 9702366 after local verification.
